Live Your Faith – CD
6 session – CD
This well-established 6-session course is intended as an introduction to living the Christian life. It is designed for new Christians but also serves as a refresher for more experienced groups.
The course audio contains six 14-minute radio-style starters for group discussion, with Simon Stanley putting questions to our participants: Dr Donald English, Lord Tonypandy, Fiona and Roy Castle. Lord Habgood, former Archbishop of York, introduces the course and Canon John Young provides a Closing Reflection at the end of each session.

Live Your Faith
Live Your Faith was the very first York Course and follows a slightly different format to its successors – but we have a very soft spot for it and think it covers basics pretty thoroughly! The title, Live your Faith, itself sets the agenda – Christianity isn’t just about what we believe: it’s about how we live. So, how do we put our beliefs into practice?
We offer some suggestions by looking at:
- the person of Jesus
- what prayer is
- how the church should function
- the nature and purpose of the Holy Spirit
- the point of the Bible
Then in the last session we point to that all-important practical application – how to get started and how to keep going on the journey of faith.
Although suitable for everyone, this is a particularly good course for enquirers and those in their early stages of faith.
1. The Key – Jesus
3. The Community – The Church
4. The Dynamic – The Holy Spirit
5. The Bible
6. The Outcome – Service and Witness
Live your Faith is one of only two courses with 6, rather than 5, sessions. The other 6-session course is Great Events, Deep Meanings.
The participants on the course audio are Dr Donald English, Lord Tonypandy, Fiona and Roy Castle. Lord Habgood, former Archbishop of York, introduces the course and Canon John Young provides a Closing Reflection at the end of each session.
The course booklet, written by Canon John Young, includes questions aimed at provoking wide-ranging discussion. Each group needs 1 copy of the course audio, plus a course booklet for each member. In addition many groups find the transcript invaluable.
