David Gamble

REVD DAVID GAMBLE was President of the Methodist Conference for 2009/10 and was a former Chair of Barnado’s. He served as a minister in two North Yorkshire Circuits, before moving to the Methodist Division of Education and Youth. In 1996 he became Secretary for Family and Personal Relationships and in 2003 Coordinating Secretary for Legal and Constitutional Practice. From 2012 to 2015 he was Chair of the Methodist Council.

David co-wrote the course booklet Better Together? with John Young.

We were greatly saddened to hear of the sudden death of the Revd David Gamble on 11th September 2015, just a few days after the publication of his York Course Making Room.

David was extraordinarily talented and was a joy to work with, full of wisdom, knowledge, faith, patience and, last but not least, fun. His significant and wide-ranging Christian ministry influenced countless numbers of people far beyond the bounds of Methodism. Not only did he travel widely on behalf of his own denomination – his counsel was also highly valued in the search for Christian unity.
