Caring for Creation written by Brian Davis
To mark the occasion of his Enthronement as the 98th Archbishop of York, Stephen Cottrell was recorded in conversation with York Courses’ John Young in the latest Christian Conversation ‘By the Grace of God, I Will’
Archbishop Stephen Cottrell said:
“It was a pleasure to speak with John about my journey of faith and some of the issues that are forefront in the Church of England at this time. A desire that remains within me is that I would love people to know that in Christ you can become yourself. That seems to me to be the heart of the good news, or how I would express the heart of the good news, for today’s world. I hope that as you listen to our discussion you can hear that together we are the body of Christ and we are all called to use the gifts we have been given to show God’s love, care and compassion to all those we meet.”

York Courses is based in historic York and we produce courses specially designed for groups of Christians from different traditions to use together. Our discussion courses are used in more than 20 countries, all over the world, helping people to share their experiences and understanding of the Christian faith. Although the most popular times to use our courses are Lent and Advent, they’re not ‘season-specific’ and so can be used at any time of year. If you want to:
- learn more about the Christian faith
- tackle the biggest questions facing humanity
- examine your own beliefs, in fellowship with others
Then York Courses are for you. We recommend a:
- course booklet for each group member
- copy of the course audio (CD/digital download) – plus transcript
We’re a small family business, proud of our courses and keen to give you excellent service. Due to the nature of our work, our office hours are irregular – at our very busiest time of year between Autumn and Lent, we’re rarely out of the office and the telephone is red hot! Between Easter and Autumn we try to recharge our batteries – and even take the occasional day off! If you do come through to our voicemail, please leave us a message and we’ll come back to you just as soon as we can.
Please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org if you can’t find the information you’re looking for on our website. All of our materials can be ordered online safely and efficiently. You can, of course, still order from us by post or by phone.
If you prefer not to order online, please note that the following prices apply to postal and phone orders:
