Science and Christian Faith Audiotape

An in-depth discussion between the Revd Canon John Young and the Revd Professor Sir John Polkinghorne FRS. All you ever wanted to know about Science and the Christian Faith ... but were afraid (or didn't get the opportunity) to ask!

John Polkinghorne was for some years Professor of Mathematical Physics at Cambridge University. John has written a range of books on the complementary relationship between Christianity and Science for which he won the prestigious Templeton Prize. Among his writing is the York Courses' booklet The Archbishop's School of Christianity and Science. Neither tape nor booklet are technical. Both are designed to help those of us without a scientific background to begin to understand this hot topic.

John Young has included a section on Christianity and Science in his book The Case Against Christ where he spells out the main thrust of John Polkinghorne's view that Christianity and Science are partners not opponents.

This topic tape is useful for lending or giving to young people and others who are exercised by the current debates around this issue - e.g. Richard Dawkins or whether Creationism should be taught in schools. This encouraging tape clearly illustrates that it is possible to be both a top scientist and a convinced Christian.

Total running time approx 60 minutes.
