Course commended by Inderjit Bhogal - Director of the Yorkshire and Humber Faiths Forum and also national Chair of Set All Free.
Voted joint 'Pick of the Bunch' in the Church Times' review of Lent courses (2007).
While drawing on the past, this 5-part course focuses on building a better world TODAY.
5 sessions:
1. Slavery: then and now
2. Friendship and Prayer: then and now
3. Change and Struggle: then and now
4. The Bible: then and now
5. Redemption and Restitution: then and now
The course booklet, written by Canon John Young, includes questions aimed at provoking wide-ranging discussion. Each group needs 1 CD or audiotape, plus a course booklet for each member. In addition many groups find the transcript booklet invaluable.
The participants on the CD/audiotape are Archbishop John Sentamu, Wendy Craig and Leslie Griffiths. Dr David Hope introduces the course and 5 Poor Clares from BBC TV's The Convent provide the Closing Reflections.
